What We Just Built: How Every WhiskManager Shop Page Now Works for Google, ChatGPT, and Beyond

We rebuilt how every WhiskManager Shop Page talks to Google and AI search tools — real structured data, a real bug fix, and a new visibility checklist

A few weeks ago we wrote about the difference between SEO (getting found on Google) and GEO/AEO (getting cited by ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity) — and about how your Shop Page is supposed to handle a lot of that technical work for you. This post is the follow-up: what we actually rebuilt under the hood, why, and what it means for your bakery specifically.

If you haven't read the first post, start there: "SEO vs. GEO: How Bakers Get Found by Google — and Now by ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity." This one picks up where that one left off.

The Short Version

Every published Shop Page now automatically generates the structured data and search-ready content that search engines and AI tools are built to read — with no extra work from you. We also found and fixed a real bug that was quietly showing every visitor the wrong business name. Here's the full list.

1. Your Shop Page Now Speaks Directly to Search Engines and AI Tools

Search engines and AI crawlers don't "read" a webpage the way a person does. Many of them look for a specific, invisible format called structured data (or "schema markup") that spells out exactly what they're looking at: this is a business, this is its name, this is where it's located, this is what it sells.

Every Shop Page now generates this automatically — pulled straight from the information you already filled in during shop setup. No code, no plugins, nothing new to learn.

2. We Found (and Fixed) a Real Bug

While building this, we discovered that shop pages were quietly falling back to displaying "Baker's Shop" instead of your actual business name for anyone visiting who wasn't logged in — which, since your customers aren't logged into your WhiskManager account, meant this was likely happening to real visitors. That's fixed now. If you've ever wondered whether your shop page was showing your real name correctly, it is now, guaranteed.

3. Every Product Now Carries Its Own Structured Data

Beyond your shop as a whole, each individual live product on your Shop Page now generates its own structured listing — name, photo, description, and price. We built this carefully so it can never show anything misleading: the price shown to search engines and AI tools is always the exact same number already shown to your customers on the page, availability is only ever marked when you actually track inventory, and international bakers now get their real currency instead of everything defaulting to US dollars.

4. A Real, Public FAQ Page

Our FAQ page used to be buried behind a login. It's now fully public at whiskmanager.com/faq — a place where anyone (a curious prospect, or an AI tool trying to answer someone's question about WhiskManager) can find real answers about what we do, who we're for, and how the platform works.

5. Full Sitemap Coverage

A sitemap is the map you hand to search engines so they know every page on your site worth indexing. Ours previously missed a big piece: individual shop pages weren't listed at all. Every published shop is now included automatically, alongside every blog post and FAQ page.

6. New: Your Search & AI Visibility Checklist

This is the one you can actually see and use. Head to My Shop and you'll now find a Search & AI Visibility card showing exactly what's filled in — and what's missing — for everything above. It's split into two sections:

  • Essentials — the handful of things that actually gate whether your shop shows up anywhere at all (being published, having a business name, a real description, your location, and at least one live product)
  • Nice to Have — everything else that strengthens your listing but isn't required (photos, socials, product descriptions, and so on)

Every incomplete item links straight to where you fix it.

What You Should Actually Do

Log into WhiskManager, go to My Shop, and look at your Search & AI Visibility score. If anything in the Essentials section is unchecked, start there — it's the difference between showing up at all and not. Everything in Nice to Have is exactly that: optional, but each one makes your listing a little stronger.

None of this requires you to understand schema markup, JSON-LD, or anything technical at all. That was the whole point of building it this way — the technical foundation is handled; the only thing left is making sure your own shop information is complete.

If you haven't already, our SEO vs. GEO workbook walks through the bigger picture — what search engines and AI tools are actually looking for, and how to think about your bakery's visibility beyond just what WhiskManager automates for you.
